Notes about Android handsets

For Samungs Android device please click here.

A synchronization with Android devices is not yet possible with Mobile Master. We are working on that.

But you can copy your contacts with Mobile Master to most of the Android handsets.
Please make sure that importing of VCard files is possible (see C:)
For this you should have installed Mobile Master 7.8.3 or newer. » Download

A: Export the contacts from Mobile Master

In case you already have contacts in Mobile Master you can export them a VCard-(vcf-) file (menu File -> Exort).
Continue with C:

B: Copy the contacts e.g. from Thunderbird to your Android phone:

Note: for this Mobile Master Professional or Corporate is required.

  1. In Mobile Master in the home screen click at 'Settings and Tools' and then click at 'Wizards...'
  2. Select 'Address Book Master' and click 'Start wizard'
  3. Select the application you want to copy the contacts from, e.g. Lotus Notes or Outlook
  4. After the import, select for VCard (vcf) file
  5. Select 'all contacts'
  6. and enter and path and file name
  7. Make sure 'Save in im Unicode Format' is unchecked
  8. Select 'Do not add 0 to country prefix'
  9. Continue with C:

C: Copy the contacts to your Android phone

  1. Make sure a memory card is inserted in the phone
  2. Connect your Android handset via USB with your computer and select 'Turn on USB storage'. (The Nexus S always asks 'Turn off USB storage', even to turn it 'on'.)
In case you do not see that question box at the phone, go to the settings -> SD card & phone storage and activate 'Mass storage only'.
Now you see in the Windows Explorer a new drive representing the memory card of your Android phone.
Alternatively you can eject the memory card from your phone and put it in a memory card reeader connected to your computer.
  3. Now copy the created vcf file to that memory card (into the root folder)

D: Import the contacts at the Android handset

  1. At the phone open the contactsl open the menuand select 'Import/Export'. On some Android devices you have to select 'More' prior to that
  2. Seelct 'Import from SD card' or 'Import from USB storage'
On some devices this is not available, e.g. Motorola Blur
  3. Now select the file you have copy to the memory card

With a Google Nexus S we had the following problems:
Import seems to work, but afterwards none of the contacts were shown. Even adding a contact manually seemed to work.
After a 'Factory data reset' (Settings -> Privacy) all worked perfect.

Android is the operating system developed by Google which is used in handsets from e.g. Samsung, Motorola, HTC, Sony Ericsson, LG.
